Hi,

I'm looking for APIs which help me to do some multihead
ascii graphics. I found ggi on the net and I tried it out.
It is really wonderful. At no time I got up 4 cards with
a display-tile target which gave me a virtual screen of
2560x480 resolution. I really love it.
But there are still some questions left about handling
specific stuff under ggi.

I can't figure it out how kgicon and multihead fit together.
kgicon is built only for one specific card and there is no
option to do kgicon for more than one device.
Is it possible to do a kgicon module for every type of card
I've got and inserting them into kernel via different names?

At the moment I have 1 Permedia card, 2 Matrox Mystique and
1 Matrox Millenium. While my kernel support for permedia sucks
I'm using the kgicon driver for this one. The Matrox cards
just use matroxfb from kernel.

Is there a possibilty to split up a aa-target in a fashion like
display-tile does? I configure my graphics device via display-tile
with the [fbdev:/dev/fb?] target. Wouldn't it be beatiful to do it
for aa the same way. Just specifying display-tile via
[aa:/dev/tty?] ?
Maybe there is something which is similar to this approach.

I would like to hear any ideas about this. Even if my questions
are too stupid I like to hear that :)

thanks in advance,

Norbert

P.S.: In some specific manner ggi rocks absolutely
