This just in: http://www.directfb.org/news/martin/release.xml This is EXACTLY what we need -- something to hold us over until KGI and provide KGI drivers a start point, someone else to worry about implementing hw accel so we can concentrate on abstracting it into a target-independent API. My gist (just started reading the docs) is abandon display-fbdev at least for now, write display-directfb, (and galloc-directfb) and start cranking out those extensions. (Maybe I'm just being hopeful and there will be major design flaws that will prevent things from working this way; I'll know more after digesting the docs.) -- Brian
