Well, I agree with Stefan about timeline and releases. We had a
deadline, we tagged the CVS tree, we have source tarballs, good or
not. Now if we start messing around, adding stuff, compiling different
binaries, etc we're not getting anywhere. If we have fixes it's fine,
they will go into the stable release. That's what a beta is for actually.
Brian , your message is fine. As for slashdot, I think if we ever want
to get a post there we should at least wait for the 2.0 final.
BTW, The planned release occurs right in the middle of my holiday in
Japan, so somebody will have to put the tarball on the ftp server.
Christoph, or somebody that can take care of this, I can set up a
shell login at metalab for you. I just need a ssh (RSA) public key.
