Hi!

I know this is offtopic, but solving my problem would help me to come back
to GGI again.

Does anyone know how the ext2 superblock signature looks like?
How can I search for it and get the cylinder it belongs to?
My harddisk has 790 cylinders, 255 heads and 63 sectors. One cylinder has
8225280 bytes.

If you need further information then feel free to ask me.

My problem was caused by a crash of Windows NT and it corrupted my
partition table! *Arrgh* Fortunately I have a bootable SuSE CD and
remembered the size of some partitions. So I was able to restore my /,
/usr and some non-linux partitions, so that I am able to write and reveive
mails again. But I am not able to restore /home, where all GGI-related
stuff is stored including non-committed code (libbuf) and all the mails I
received until release was made. I would like commit Thaynes patch and the
build fix for FreeBSD.

Thanks in advance,

Christoph Egger
