There is another issue with the svgalib-target I found, when exiting.

After I started any <demo>-program, there is always running a second
lt-<demo>-program. When exiting, the lt-<demo> one doesn't exist. It
allocates more and more memory until it is killed by the kernel. Then I
get my console back.

Have you ever run GGI on X-target and having XF86 3.x.x as X-server?
It is _much_ faster.
