I do agree with you. We may open the book for 3d right now [1], but it's probably *not* very clever to do it too early [2]. On the other hand, it's true that external opinions on GGI should be taken into account. Specifically, the complexity of the design and the fact that it prevents people from trying to help on a specific area annoys me (especially as, sometimes, I share this feeling also). But I don't really know how this could be improved (more comments in the code, more README.internal files?). Rodolphe [1] I am around 1-2 days programming away from hw accelerated 3d textured triangles with Z buffer *from userspace*. But I'd rather this to stay in a testing framework during a really significant time... [2] E.g.: texture allocation deserves to be done cleanly, rendering options like alpha channel, fog, specular highlight or dual texturing too. And such things require a framework which is currently being implemented, if I understand correctly.
