hi all,

Steffen currently seems to be very busy with other things, unfortunately,
which leads to very high latency for patches (and whole drivers) to be
accepted to go into the kgi repository. While this is not necessarily bad,
it makes it more complicated for contributors to base their efforts on a
common current codebase and to avoid thinking about todos, bugs, or annoyances
which are already fixed.

>From what i've heard, it was already planned to rejoin the kgi module into
the GGI repository "later on", so:
What do you think about importing the current kgi-0.9 (and tools) module
to the GGI cvs repository _now_ and tag a (lets say wip) branch to provide a
place where the Work In Progress could be collected?

Once in a while, e.g. Steffen would bring over the mature parts of the wip
branch to the head, or simply drop changes in the wip he dislikes.

Furthermore, it was suggested to separate the "app"s dir into a separate
module to significantly reduce the amount of source which has to be
downloaded by adventurous people who "just want to try out KGI".

kind regards,
Bernhard
