Austin is correct - I have built LLVM from the tarball.

I used LLVM backend (perf-llvm) for mine GHC 7.6.2.
I'm attaching some notes I made yesterday and today when I was investigating my
build failures
with LLVM 3.0. Perhaps they will be helpful.
