Dear GHC Devs,
Alpha, our beloved native x86_64 darwin (MacOS) runner has perished.
From my perspective, this is final since I cannot touch the system and
all remote trouble shooting seems to point me at its demise. A potential
touching of the system of a third party may make it come back.
The only workflow affected is test-primops x86_64 darwin. I have
switched that to use emulation via rosetta for now (run on our
aarch64-darwin runners). If you think this is a bad idea, please contact me.
There also was a few minutes of downtime yesterday and today because I
applied a critical security patch to gitlab. (path traversal
vulnerability, aka ../)
