I'd be interested in some instructions on how to build ghdl under cygwin
or pure windows.
I might be inspired to add some functionality (eg ability to select
which signals to record).

Subject: [Ghdl-discuss] ghdl & windows

Hi ,
I wonder myself if it is possible to build ghdl on Cygwin (Windows) as
mentioned in the following html page : http://ghdl.free.fr/download.html
and how ?
What are the main issues with this approach ? and why do you have chosen
to distribute a " pure " windows binary that is not able to build an
executable or link to another native object file ?
In fact we are not able to implement "foreign" vhdl functions with the
windows version nether using vpi or whatever else. It is a "killer"
( may be, I'm little excessive ;-) ) restriction !
So, I would like to thank all the contributosr of this "essential " and
wonderful open source project and If you can clarify your vision of
the road map of the windows binary version it could help me to
understand if it is helpful to contribute to build a Cygwin based
version or not.

Regards

Michel
