I agree with that.

I second this : if you leave the freedom to implement any language,
the user can choose and use what fits best to each given problem.
From the GHDL perspective, it becomes "only a matter of interfacing".
VHPI is already a vital feature for me and many others, GHDL provides
some safety in this domain and this boosts GHDL as a whole.
The same could happen too with a scripting extension interface.
