PEOPLE have been talking about a young movie actress who’s often seen in the
company of a famous sporting personality known worldwide.

They say she accompanies him even in the gym where he plays basketball,
although basketball is not his major sport.

“In front of everybody, she has absolutely no qualms about wiping the sweat
from his brow. She’s so caring,” said an eyewitness.

Having other women outside of the sportsman’s marriage and in the public eye
is actually nothing new. He has been linked to other beautiful women before.

They must find him irresistible, considering his fame and fortune. And with
all the accoutrements of success, ladies of all ages probably now see him as
handsome. Or at the very least, almost handsome.

According to observers, what makes this particular liaison objectionable and
a grist for the rumor mills is the fact that the young actress’ father seems
to tolerate the liaison.

The young actress is accompanied by her actor-father practically everywhere
she goes with the sports star.

But not as a chaperone, according to observers.

“How ironic. Do you know that the father often portrays Jesus Christ in
biblical movies and cenakulos because of his ‘maamong’ face? He is always
the first pick of the director for a role like that, would you believe?”
said one show biz reporter.

Well maybe I’ve seen him in some of those flicks but didn’t recognize him
because of the long hair and the moustache and beard.

Actually, this is most probably not the first time you are reading about
this hot item. It has been widely circulated weeks ago, mostly in the
entertainment section of the newspapers.

Even the wife of the sportsman has come across these items.

I’m told that his marriage has become shaky because of this recent liaison.

Incidentally, the young actress is said to be engaged to a man who is also
in show business. According to reports, the couple has set a wedding date.

The question everyone is asking now is, will the wedding push through?

In the PBA, Wynne Arboleda may have been the recipient of the stiffest
penalty imposed by the league on a cager.

But if you belong to the older generation, surely you will remember the
verdict handed down on teammates Sonny Jaworski and Big Boy Reynoso for acts
of violence on a referee during their Micaa days.

The Big J and Big Boy were banned for life from the league and from the
sport by the Basketball Association of the Philippines.

The two stayed inactive for more than a year. Then they filed a formal
appeal with the BAP for reconsideration.

The BAP acted favorably on the appeal and pretty soon, Jaworski and Reynoso
were back on the hardcourt, strutting their wares.

As everyone knows, the Big J played on up to his fifties and became the
Living Legend and one of only three cagers/senators of the land. The others
are the late Ambrosio Padilla and Freddie Webb.
