After 8 years, my beloved Pioneer HTD-1 DVD Player, finally died after a lingering illness. It was truly a pioneer; I bought it back when DiBiDis still cost P300 in Virra Mall, and original DVDs were a thousand bucks a pop. Thousands of Movies and TV shows later, DiBiDis are at P25.00, and Orig DVDs at P125.00. While I ponder my next Home Theater System (to blu-ray or not to blu-ray?)... I went to Quiapo to get a stopgap measure: Introducing the TOP MD-8504; P1,300.00, and it plays EVERYTHING! MKV (?) files to DVDs/CDs and anything plugged in the USB port!
