So the foomatic-database-gimpprint package contains only the
Foomatic data generator and requires libgimpprint. The Post-Install
script of libgimpprint checks the presence of Foomatic and the
Foomatic data generator. When both are present, the Post-Install
script deletes old GIMP-Print XML files, starts the data generator
and foomatic-kitloads the resulting files. So a distro does not
even need to ship the GIMP-Print XML files, they will be generated
on the fly, during package installation.

That sounds almost right (unless someone installs foomatic after
installing Gimp-print, and we can't guarantee ordering).
