Grammar Nazis will tell you never to end a sentence with a preposition;
this is better treated as a guideline than an inviolable rule. If you're
ending a sentence with one, than it would probably be better reworked:

"Many cameras use EXIF metadata to describe the settings used to take the
picture." 

This is just a suggestion, of course.
