you should still be able to find them without counting on apt-get or  
whatever bunty uses.
A quick google finds this:

you should find something there that fits. Probably an rpm . fonts dont  
need compiling so it's just a case of checking they unpack to the right  
place (and reading the shareware licence).

getting back to the point of the post , does gimp require this package to  
work correctly?
