Interesting -- I did a search for "Gimp trademark" and didn't find that.
But is there any evidence that "Gimp" is actually trademarked?  Unlike
copyright, trademarks are not automatic -- they must be applied for and
approved.  They must also be actively defended in order to be enforceable.
