Hi Philip,
You can change the language of the GIMP interface by going to the
following menu: Edit (second menu from left) > Preferences (Fifth entry
from button) > Interface (second from top, icon displays a window with
the gimp-logo in it). The first drop down menu in the right side of that
window is where the language is selected.
The reason I explain the position of the menus so precisely is because
yours are obviously not in English so they might be hard to find otherwise.

I’ve just installed GIMP for MAC-Yosemite. The interface is not in English, but
in either Hindi or Gibberish (see screen shot). I’ve also installed GIMP for
MAC-MT Lion with the same result. Is there a fix for this? The Main text Menu
is the only part of the interface that is in English (see screen shot). Amy
assistance would be greatly appreciated. Dr. P
