Composite modes: that's just Porter-Duff operators, see e.g. https://www.w3.org/TR/compositing-1/#porterduffcompositingoperators Blend space. On linear and gamma-corrected (perceptual) see e.g. https://prolost.com/blog/2005/1/26/color-correction-in-linear-vs-gamma-corrected-space.html Composite space.
