Julie, There are currently 28 bugs that need to be fixed before we can release 2.10. Also, please note that if you typically shoot photos to Raw rather than JPEG, you might want checking out darktable (www.darktable.org). It's free software for digital photography streamlined for people who shoot a lot of pictures and will benefit from batch-applying edits from one picture to many others. Darktable has shadows-highlights module and works on both Windows, Linux, and macOS.
