Best guess. Are they transmittals (or maybe archives), typically engineering drawings 1 bit tiff files? These are going to be opened in gimp as 8 bit and the file size correspondingly greater. Example file size 11kb in Gimp as a file in memory 30 MB. After editing export as a CCITT group 4 and you should get back to a corresponding small file size rich: www.gimp-forum.net Attachments: * https://www.gimpusers.com/system/attachments/1093/original/tiffexample.jpg -- rich404 (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) _______________________________________________ gimp-user-list mailing list List address: gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
