GIMP has roughly 600K lines of code in C for UI one way or another. Could you please explain why you want GIMP 3.0 released in 2030 instead of some time in 2022 maybe? :) For the same reason, could you please explain why you want non-destructive editing released in 2033/2034 as part of v3.2 instead of in a few years? Finally, could you please explain why you think it's a good idea to use very limited time of very few existing contributors to learn programming for a whole new toolkit rather than deal with a gazillion of non-GTK issues that GIMP has? Please tell me... Will Qt automagically improve image processing performance? Will Qt automagically add non-destructive editing? Will Qt automagically add shape drawing tools? Will Qt automagically add smart objects / link layers? Will Qt automagically add native text layers support in PSD? Will Qt automagically add better CMYK support? The vast majority of things users expect us to fix have nothing to do with the toolkit. > it's much more powerfull ...and comes with a different, entirely new bunch of issues that need to be studied and then worked around. > and for all platforms GIMP works on Linux, Windows, and macOS. How many more desktop platforms would you like supported and why?
