The spam problem is easily understood. Introduction of any new technology should be justified in the context of existing technologies. In this case one technology is email. Another is Usenet news. Individual Usenet servers can exclude spam. Nevertheless, Usenet is also unworkable because of spam?
I don't think changing to a service many people wouldn't even have heard of is very viable. Even email is not really in use by many people beyond receiving email notifications and password reset mails for accounts they have at various services. Discourse is usable via its web interface and email (you can get notifications and reply by mail, there's even a way to send some commands) - so it seems to cater to a larger group overall. -- Regards, Michael _______________________________________________ gimp-user-list mailing list List address: gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
