It might shock you, but it's completey legal, at least in most jurisdictions. The (GPL) license puts some requirements on distribution, but you don't have to mention the terms in the advertising for it, nor must it be distributed for free. "free" refers to the terms that source code is distributed at no extra charge and with full modification rights, not to the actual price.
