But we are already improving the way GIMP manages its windows for 2.4. And for GIMP 2.6, I would like to try merging the toolbox menu into the image menu and making sure that there's always one image window open. That window can then become the main GIMP window, with the toolbox and other dialogs as transient children. That should solve the problems without introducing the akwardness of an MDI user interface.
