I hope someone can help me, or steer me in the right direction. I
was running Linux-Mandrake 6.1 with SANE installed and my scanner
(HP 5P) would show up in the "xtns" menu item, no problem. I
installed Linux-Mandrake 7 from scratch, no "upgrading", and
although the plugin "xscanimage" is in the plugins directory and I
can see it being loaded it doesn't show up on the "xtns" menu any
more.
I'm using SANE version 1.0.1-8mdk installed from a Mandrake RPM and
GIMP 1.0.4-8mdk installed the same way. When I run GIMP I get also
this error message: /usr/lib/gimp/1.0/plug-ins/xscanimage: GIMP
support missing.
wire_read: unexpected EOF (plug-in crashed?)
