Record a mono signal in over the SPDIF input evenly balanced to both
sides of a stereo file. Zoom right in on a peak or zero-crossing point
until you can see individual values. Higher frequencies tend to show
more obviously. It should be apparent whether both channels peak or
cross zero at the same time or whether the right side lags behind by 1
sample.
