To Airth's explanation, let me add that CFS is the usual diagnosis in the U.S. for
people with what Britain calls M.E., though sometimes, unfortunately, broader
criteria are used and people without M.E. are also diagnosed with CFS.  So when
you mean M.E. it's best to use both terms.  I've had CFS/ME since 1987.
