Newbie alert.
I'm using gitx on OSX 10.5.6.
My versioned directory containing .git looks like this:
myDir/
.git
figs/ (various files here)
scr/
AB.xml
b.backup
b.sc
(various other files here)
AB.xml, b.backup, and b.sc are large but essential files that are of no
interest to me. I'd like to treat them as versioned binaries.
I want to tell git(X) that AB.xml, b.backup, and b.sc need to be checked in
etc., but that I don't care to see them for diffs, history, or changes.
How do I do this? I read something about .gitattributes and put a
gitattributes in myDir, with:
AB.xml b.backup b.sc -crlf -diff
but could not get gitX to change what it did/showed.
Thanks!
