maybe not the answer you want, but I had a heck of a time setting it up so I search around and found https://bitbucket.org/ They offer free Git hosting for up to 5 developers, and their service includes a lot of great features, such as an integrated issue tracking system. Anyway might be something worth checking out. We really love it.
