Had the same error, when pushing to my personal repository:
ld.so.1: git: fatal: relocation error: file
/usr/local/libexec/git-core/git: symbol deflateBound: referenced symbol not
The same fix worked for me:
$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
(/usr/sfw/lib was already in $LD_LIBRARY_PATH)
