You can copy files from the different copy to the git repository folder. 
You will see new and modified files (git status). Then you should add 
modified files to the git index (git add -A) and commit its (git commit -m 
"my message").

The right way is to clone the git repository to the different copy. You 
will can push commits from the cloned repository to the original git
