I have a working copy directory and lots of its files are being marked as
having "typechange" status. It spews out lots of these things and makes it
hard to use git.
cook47@rcmac (blockbuster (master)): git status
# On branch master
# Changes not staged for commit:
# (use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed)
# (use "git checkout -- <file>..." to discard changes in working directory)
#
# modified: Makefile
# modified: install-Qt-libs.sh
# modified: make-bindist.sh
# modified: remake.sh
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0000.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0001.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0002.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0003.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0004.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0005.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0006.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0007.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0008.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0009.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/left_stereo-test0010.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/right_stereo-test0000.png

# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/right_stereo-test0001.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/right_stereo-test0002.png
# typechange: sample-data/stereo-frames/right_stereo-test0003.png

Now, I've tried the following, and to my surprise, this does not work:
cook47@rcmac (blockbuster (master)): for file in
sample-data/stereo-frames/*png; do
echo fixing $file;
git checkout -- $file;
done

Now the big surprise. Cloning the entire repository newly also results in
the same "typechange" flags:

git clone xx...@git.code.sf.net:/p/blockbuster/git blockbuster-new

Huh? I'm going crazy here. why is git torturing me?
Thanks
