I am relatively new to git; and created a new bare shared repository using
'scp' from an existing repository I had

been working on to set up a git server.

There is a reference to one of the branches in depot I copied from:

git branch -a

 * master

 But strange thing is origin is not listed with remote command:
git remote -v

Any ideas on why this happened?
I also wouldn't mind removing this remote branch from this server entirely;
but am not sure how do to that either; I'm planning to delete the depot I
started with and treat the new server
as my origin.
