As a newbie to git, i am having trouble getting in to my github account. I have had a majoe computer hardware failure, and had to build a new computer with ubuntu 20. I have lost my github password, and the private ssh key from the old computer is gone. I try to log into github using firefox V95.0.1. I click "forgot password" on github and get an email link to reset my password. when I get a password reset email from GitHub, the 2FA requires a validation code. I have a github authentication app on my phone, and it does give me a nvalidation code, but that code does not ever work. I am wondering if it has something to do wirh my using a freshly rebuilt system, which may not have the same ssh key as the old system, but I am not sure. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks, Bob
