How many is lots? Is it a case of just using the available processor threads, or is it hundreds and thousands of OS threads?
Some of the tasks can have elements that are run in parallel, so this might be part of it. Also do you have any of the File System monitor capability enabled (haven't look if it was active in that version) Do the processes terminate when the fetch is complete? Which OS and version are you on?
