If so then it makes a bit more sense to me, even though I tend to disagree with such broadly sweeping generalizations, especially when the qualifying context is missing. That aside, your idea of looking out for "bad smells" not only in code but also in the spoken language contained by commit messages and design discussions is an interesting one.
