michaelandrepearce edited a comment on issue #2626: ARTEMIS-2308 Support exporting metrics to Prometheus URL: https://github.com/apache/activemq-artemis/pull/2626#issuecomment-484288390 As i noted, i think an approach similar to Istio would be quite pragmatic. and a good proof of ensuring the abstraction is good, like they did with istio, is provide not one but a couple of options of day one, this way you know the abstraction layer is generic enough. Or likewise Micrometer.
