This looks fine to me, but it needs some documentation so that folks know it's there and how to use it. I went ahead and created [ARTEMIS-4408](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARTEMIS-4408) for it. Once you add the documentation please squash the commits and modify the commit message in accordance with our [Hacking Guide](https://github.com/apache/activemq-artemis/blob/main/docs/hacking-guide/_code.adoc#commitMessageDetails).
