+ * Utilities for Iceberg REST catalog server-side scan planning configuration.
+ *
+ * <p>When a REST catalog server advertises the scan-planning endpoints and
+ * {@link RESTCatalogProperties#SCAN_PLANNING_MODE} is set to
+ * {@link RESTCatalogProperties.ScanPlanningMode#SERVER}, Iceberg's {@code
RESTSessionCatalog} returns a
+ * {@code RESTTable} that delegates {@code planTasks()} to the server. Hive's

table for {@code POST /plan}

scan planning mode;
+ * {@link
HiveConf.ConfVars#HIVE_ICEBERG_REST_SERVER_SIDE_SCAN_PLANNING_ENABLED} only
controls whether
+ * Hive is allowed to follow it.

Review Comment:
   The server-vs-client decision is made at HS2 from the client-side
`iceberg.catalog.<name>.scan-planning-mode` only (`getScanPlanningMode`), but
Iceberg itself (`RESTSessionCatalog.restTableForScanPlanning`) lets the mode
returned in `LoadTableResponse` take precedence over the client property. So if
the server requires server-side planning and the client property is unset,
Iceberg returns a `RESTTable` while Hive skips the marker and plans locally
from manifests.

   `overlayTableProperties` already loads the table from the catalog; could the
marker be set based on what Iceberg resolved there (the loaded table being a
server-planning `RESTTable`, gated by the kill switch) instead of re-reading
the client property? Note:
   - the server's mode is per table, so the marker would need to be keyed per
table rather than per catalog;
   - `RESTTable` is package-private, so this probably needs a small helper
(e.g. in patched-iceberg-core) or a class-name check for now.
