Reproduced with Codex assistance on Windows, CPython 3.13.7, `datafusion==55.0.0` and PyArrow 26.0.1. A valid `year=2024/month=01/a.parquet` yields `month='01'`; `year=2024/month=02.parquet` incorrectly yields `'02.parquet'`, while the control `year=2024/data.parquet` is skipped. I'd like to work on the default-mode fix if this is still available. The scope would be to exclude the final file component in `parse_partitions_for_path` and extend the existing partial-partition tests with a filename that matches `key=value`. I'd keep complete partition paths, percent-decoding and the opt-in strict validation behavior covered.
