I have realized I have made an error in the coverage job, where it checks out the merge of the PR head into the current `main`, measures that tree, and `codecov-action` uploads the report under the PR head SHA. When `main` has commits the branch lacks, Codecov reads the merge tree's coverage at the head's line numbers and flags the wrong lines. This now adjusts the hash appropriately.
