Makes sense there's probably more than one issue to tackle. I just imagine that for the S3/GCS/etc. use case the extra I/O fetches would dominate, and might even be the same for small datasets like TPCH on a spinning disk (maybe that's the case [here](https://github.com/apache/datafusion/pull/19477#issuecomment-3707083577)?) but I don't have any concrete evidence for that. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
