Meh. Would you like *"Use PCRE-like regular expressions"* better? My point is that "PCRE" also refers in the collective unconcious as a RE syntax, not only the library implementing it. So using this instead of a, possibly more correct, "GLib regular expressions", gives a lot more useful information to a lot of people, which might not be familiar with what GLib's RE are, but would know what kind of features to expect from PCRE.
IMO, *"Use PCRE-like regular expressions. For detailed information about using regular expressions, please refer to the documentation."* would be fine.
