@AdamDanischewski like I said above, Geany will NOT read files with NULs in them, no point in searching for them, also it validates UTF-8 inputs. Its fine with non-ASCII characters so long as they are valid UTF-8.
@hdaz000700 300Mb should be ok, so long as you have enough memory, but that would have other effects, not weird displays.
