IMHO, it would be very practical to see instantly exactly where one is editing 
also when the window is out of focus (not the active window). "Focus follow 
cursor" is sometimes also practical, but only as long as it does not actively 
move the cursor insertion point, only highlights the lines being pointed at... 
That means that there should be one color staying put highlighting the line 
where the cursor insertion point actually is, and another color highlighting 
the lines following the mouse cursor. That way, when scrolling down with the 
mouse wheel, and wanting to return up (scroll back), one can easily find one's 
way back to the line with the insertion point as long as one has not clicked 
somewhere in the text area meanwhile.
