No other callers use recursive data sources, so they can't trigger the bug. 
Besides, a significant part of the spawn module is a hack for the 
broken-by-design glib spawn under Win~1.

Well, the README still says "report bugs to <my email>", so I try to fix 
them. Scope will go probably go away with gtk+2. After several years, judging 
from Debian statistics.
