Its not intentional that they have the same result on Linux as the manual states.
But yes I can confirm ctrl+shift+click no longer creates a column selection here with GTK 3 either. ctrl+shift+click works on a Geany with Scintilla 3.7.5 so its Scintilla 3.10.
