The geany's default encode setting is Unicode(UTF-8).  Ctrl + Alt + P -> File 
-> encode: Unicode(UTF-8) .

The txt-file's encode is Unicode(UTF-8) ,  geany Menu: Document -> Set file 
encode -> Unicode -> Unicode(UTF-8)
