Yeah, totally user-friendly ;-). I'm also closing #2363 as this whole thing changed into the competition in "who is more right" instead of trying to solve the problem for users. I want this to work for macOS users so I'll apply the patch every time I create the release bundle using the jhbuild patch mechanism.
